Shopping on Tojar: the Shopping Mall, direct-payment sellers and your protection

Tojar brings many independent sellers together in one place. Here's how to shop with confidence — including what it means when a seller collects payment directly.

1. Browse by Shopping Mall

Use the "Shopping Mall" menu to explore sellers by emirate and by the mall they operate from. It's a quick way to discover local stores and see what's available near you.

2. What "Direct payment" means

Most orders are paid through Tojar's secure checkout. Some sellers, marked with a Direct payment badge, collect payment from you directly — for example through their own payment link. For these items, Tojar does not process, hold, or refund the money; you pay the seller and deal with them directly.

3. Paying safely

When your cart includes a direct-payment seller, checkout clearly shows this and asks you to tick a short confirmation that you understand you'll pay the seller directly. Prefer a seller's official, secure payment link, keep your receipt, and never share card details over chat or email.

4. After you pay: seller confirmation

A direct-payment order is placed as Awaiting seller payment. After you pay using the link or instructions shown, the seller confirms receipt and moves your order forward. You can always reopen the order page to see the payment details again.

5. If something goes wrong: open a dispute

On any direct-payment order you'll find a Report a problem option that opens a dispute ticket. Tojar will help mediate between you and the seller in good faith. Give clear details and any proof of payment to help resolve it quickly.

6. Refunds on direct-payment orders

Because the money goes straight to the seller, refunds for direct-payment orders come from the seller, not Tojar — Tojar cannot issue a return or refund for money it never received. For orders paid through Tojar's checkout, the normal return and refund process applies. When in doubt, check the seller's badge at checkout so you always know how you're paying.
